| Carl Reed |
| Chief Technology Officer and Executive Director of the OGC |
| Dr. Reed is responsible for facilitating the OGC standards development process. Dr. Reed also participates in and collaborates with other standards organizations, including OASIS, NENA, W3C, ISO, and the IETF. As a result, Reed has contributed to numerous internet and web standards. Prior to the OGC, Reed was the vice president of geospatial marketing at Intergraph and pervious to that President of Genasys Americas. Dr. Reed received his PhD in Geography, specializing in systems architectures for GIS technology, from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1980. In 1995 and in 2009, Reed was voted one of the 10 most influential people in the GIS industry. For his contributions to the geospatial industry, in 2009 Reed was inducted into the URISA GIS Hall of Fame. |

| John Herring |
| Architect (Software) of Oracle USA |
Dr. Herring does independent research, technical consulting and product design for spatial database product development for the Server Technologies Division of Oracle Corporation. He has 30 years of experience in GIS, both from application and database software development. He has published papers covering GIS data modelling and system architecture, with heavy emphasis on topological-based spatial analysis, query, and related algorithms. Dr. Herring received his PhD from the Pennsylvania State University in Mathematics (Topology and Differential Geometry) in 1979.
Dr. Herring has given numerous presentations and workshops, been granted 2 patents and published about 15 articles on GIS related topics, the most recent in 2011:
| |
Coetzee S, Cox S and Herring J., Configuration management of a system of interdependent standards, 7th International Conference on Standardization and Information Technology (SIIT), Berlin, Germany, 28-30 September 2011. |
He has also worked extensively on standard definition and development for the geodata, geoprocessing community, both nationally and internationally. He is or has been chair of the several standards working groups, and is an elected member of the Architecture Board within the Opengeospatial Consortium's (OGC). He was the first recipient of OGC's Gardel's Award for "overall, long-term contributions to the community." He is a member of the US Delegation to the International Organization for Standards Technical Committee for Geographic Information/Geomatics (ISO TC 211). In this role, he has played a major role in authoring the standard for spatial objects, and for harmonizing the ISO TC 211 standards, with those of OGC, and SQL/MM, Part 3 Spatial. He is currently convenor of the Harmonized Model Maintenance Group, and Working Group 9 Information management. He is currently engaged as editor and SWG Chair for new editions ISO 19125 Simple Features, and ISO 19107 Spatial Schema, which are the fundamental implementation specifications for feature data and geometry for both OGC and ISO TC 211. |

| David Burggraf |
| Vice President of Galdos Systems Inc. |
| David comes from a background of geospatial information architecture with over 16 years of experience in semantic, mathematical, and spatial object modeling. David is the current co-chair of the GML Standard Working Groups, chair of the GML and JPEG 2000 Standard Working Group and co-chair of the Mass Market Domain Working group at the Open Geospatial Consortium. David also represents Galdos at other international standards organizations and has been an active participant in test bed initiatives. Prior to joining Galdos, David obtained his PhD in the Mathematics Department at the University of British Columbia, Canada. David is also currently an Adjunct Professor of Computing Science at Simon Fraser University. |

| Steve Liang |
| Assistant professor at University of Calgary |
| Dr. Steve Liang is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Geomatics Engineering at the University of Calgary. He currently holds a research chair titled AITF-Microsoft Industry Scholar in Open Sensor Web. He receives his B.Sc. degree in surveying engineering from National Cheng-Kung University in Taiwan, and Ph.D. degree in earth and space science from York University. He is also currently the Chair of the OGC Sensor Web for Internet of Things Standard Working Group, and the co-Chair of the OGC University Domain Working Group. His general research area is Geospatial Information and Communication Technology (GeoICT). Currently, his specific research interests lie at the intersection of Geo-Sensor Networks, Peer-to-Peer (p2p) computing and Cyberinfrastructure, specifically in the area of the GeoSensor Web, which is a geospatial information infrastructure for heterogeneous sensor networks.
